Avakov said who has been punished for Knyazhychi

Eight people have been already dismissed and about twelve will be punished with disciplinary sanction on the results of firefight investigation between law enforcement officers in the village Knyazhychi in Kiev region, during which five law enforcement officers have died.

It was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov ,”112.Ukraine” TV channel reported .
“About 12 people have received disciplinary sanctions, in particular, incomplete adequacy has been announced to Colonel Kryschenko, Kiev Police Head (Head Chief of the National Police Department in Kiev Andrey Kryschenko – IF) and to Herman Pristupa, District Department Head. Unfortunately, those events taken place in Knyazhychi, are serious shortcoming in the planning of the operation by the leaders who carried out this operation “, said Avakov.

According to the Minister, all the materials have been already handed over to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

As is known, on December 4, 2016 during a special operation of the National Police of Ukraine and Corps of operational and sudden action (CORD) on robbers’ arrest in Knyazhychi village near Kiev, as a result of mistakes firefight took place with employees of Brovary Police Division of Police Security Department, during which five law enforcement officers were killed.

The Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said that the investigators of the Prosecutor General’s Office see in the actions of those who coordinated the operation, the signs of criminal negligence, which led to particularly serious consequences. According to Lutsenko, the command to send CORD was wrong.
