Displaced persons could be granted a high-priority right to settle in the refugee centers

Member of Parliament Yuriy Levchenko has registered the bill #4290 on amending several legislative acts concerning the high-priority provision of housing for the internally displaced persons at the Verkhovna Rada.

The bill provides the amendments to the Act “On refugees and persons in need of additional or temporary protection” and the Act “On safeguarding the rights and freedoms of the internally displaced persons”.

It is proposed to determine that the centers for temporary accommodation of the refugees constitute the places for temporary accommodation of the internally displaced persons as well.

Furthermore, the bill determines that the displaced persons shall have a high-priority right to settle on the premises of the centers for temporary accommodation of the refugees, which operate in the territory of Ukraine.

According to its author, the adoption of this bill will establish conditions for assuring the compliance with the norms of the Constitution, as well as facilitate the restoration of justice in the matter of providing the displaced persons with housing.
