Judge With Yacht Received “Humanitarian” Mercedes From KSCA

Mykola Shkirai, the Judge of Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv, who owns a motor yacht Salpa Laver, received a car Mercedes-Benz C 180 at a cost of approximately USD 35 000 as a humanitarian aid from the KSCA.

This was announced by the draft “Declaration” (Bihus.Info).

In May 2017, the Department of Social Policy of the KSCA allocated 2015 Mercedes-Benz C 180 to Mykola Shkirai as a humanitarian aid to a disabled person with 2nd degree of invalidity. In his declaration, the judge indicated the car as a right of use, however an excerpt from the open register of the Ministry of Internal Affairs clearly states that in fact he owns it.

In the Regulation on provision of cars to people with disabilities, adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, it is also said that the vehicle should be immediately issued in the name of the person to whom it has been granted, but without the right of alienation. The market price of the car allocated to Shkiraev, depending on the equipment, ranges from USD 35 000 to USD 40 000.

Earlier, Mykola Shkirai has been known for the program “Our Money” with Denis Bihus. In 2016, he purchased the Italian motor yacht Salpa Laver 31,5. The purchase allegedly valued only UAH 135 000 and UAH 304 000 cost to clear the yacht through customs. However, the real price of such a vessel is about UAH 1 800 000.

Judge M. Shkirai was transferred by President Petro Poroshenko to the Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv from Balaklava District Court of the City of Sevastopil on April 7, 2015 on the basis of Decree № 203/2015.
