Judicial reform: principal amendments

On January 22, 2016, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine approved of the constitutional amendment project, and on January 28, Members of the Verkhovna Rada adopted the decision on forwarding the amended bill to the Constitutional Court. The bill includes the norm that the Attorney General is to be appointed and dismissed by the Parliament following the President’s submission. The detailed infographics thereon is provided below.

The Higher Justice Qualification Commission of Ukraine has emphasized that the adoption of bill #3524 shall in no way restrict the citizen rights and freedoms or preclude the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
