Most Ukrainians don’t want Lutsenko as a Prosecutor General – a poll

Two thirds of Ukrainians have a negative view of Yuriy Lutsenko ’s appointment as a Prosecutor General.

Such are the results of a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.

59,5% of respondents have a negative attitude towards this appointment. Only 2,3% have reacted positively to the appointment, whereas 20,2% are still undecided as to their attitude.

The respondents were also asked how they felt about Lutsenko’s appointment considering that he has a family relation to Petro Poroshenko. 67,3% of people answered that they viewed this information negatively, 14,9% – positively, whereas 17,8% were undecided.

The poll was conducted from May 13 to 18 by means of personal interview. 2039 adult respondents from 110 localities in all regions participated in it, apart from Crimea annexed by the Russian Federation and the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk Regions.

Statistical error does not exceed 3,3% for the index close to 50%; 2,8% – for the index close to 25%; 2% – for the index close to 10%; 1,4% – for the index close to 5%.

Let us remind that Yuriy Lutsenko was appointed the Prosecutor General on May 12.
