Prosecutor General’s Office lacks investigators for special investigations – Gorbatyuk

The Department of special investigations of the Prosecutor General’s Office lacks investigators and prosecutors. It was said on the air of “112 Ukraine” TV channel by Sergey Gorbatyuk, Head of the Department.

“Our department has been reduced and it has a negative effect on the results of the investigations, their quality and speed … Today we feel critical shortage of investigators and prosecutors in many cases”, he explained.

“60 people were reduced. We were added 10 before New Year, but it did not solve the issue”, added Sergey Gorbatyuk.

He is convinced that the reduction of staff has been unreasonable.

The Department of special investigations is in charge of high profile cases.
