The Professor of Hryhoriy Skovoroda State Pedagogical University of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky, Tamara Govorun belives, writes .
“Gender pedagogy has long become a sphere of life, for which many sharp arrows, even religious ones, have been released and aimed. Why? It is gender as a complex indicator of the democratic development of the country that permeates all spheres of human life – sexual roles in the family, study process, choice of profession, fulfillment of civic roles. Therefore, depending on the type of gender socialization – traditional, patriarchal, which dictates certain scenarios of subordinating the “weak” gender to “strong” or democratic, aimed at respecting the individual, own will, despite the imposed stereotyped expectations, all these influence scenario of the life of not only an individual of any age, but of the state as a whole”, says Tamara Govorun.
According to her, patriarchal scenario of personal development dominates in Ukrainian educational institutions. As a result – the country’s low gender development.
According to the report of the World Economic Forum on the Global Gender Gap Index (2016), Ukraine ranked 69 among 144 countries in 2016.
“The gender development index of the country reflects the objective situation of the male and female population in the sphere of general and professional education, economics, politics, business management, etc., which should approach, ideally, to a sexual ratio of 50/50 percent”, notes the expert.
