The HQCJ has started the formation of the Public Integrity Council.

The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJ) has started accepting documents for participation in the meeting of public associations’ representatives in order to create the Public Integrity Council.

It has been reported to “Law and Business” magazine “Закон и Бизнес” by the press service of the HQCJ.

In accordance with Article 87 of the Law “On the Judicial System and Status of Judges” , the Chairman of the HQCJ shall convene a meeting of representatives of public associations. In order to participate in the meeting, the public associations shall submit the documents in accordance with the list published on the Commission’s website until October 19, 2016 (inclusive).

The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine within ten days from the date of receipt of the application and the documents attached thereto decides the issue of public association’s compliance with the criteria for its representatives to participate in the meeting. The list of candidates to the

Public Integrity Council, as well as copies of documents provided by them, will be posted on the official HQCJ website.
The Commission recalls that the Public Integrity Council is created to promote the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine to establish the compliance a judge (a candidate for the post of judge) with criteria of professional ethics and virtues for qualification assessment purposes. The Council consists of 20 members.
