Khatia Dekanoidze , the Head of the National Police, made the announcement during the presentation of the project, according to the agency’s site.
“This system would allow us to avoid violations of rights of people, who are brought in to the police departments and put in the temporary detention facilities”, she said.
She added that this database would replace the journals, which are currently used at the detention facilities.
“There will be no more journals, which are fairly easy to forge. Furthermore, every representative dealing with observing human rights will have the opportunity to not only access all the information on the detained individual, but oversee the observance of their rights as well”, the statement reads.
