The removal of restrictions from pensions of working pensioners was supported in the VR

The Draft Law No. 5671 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Restoration of the Rights of Working Pensioners to Receive a Pension” is recommended to the Parliament to adopt as a basis.

It was reported by the Committee on Social Policy, Employment and Pension Provisions of the Verkhovna Rada.

The Draft Law No. 5671 proposes to cancel the provisions on the limitation of payments and the amount of pensions for working pensioners, as now there is a reduction of 15% of pensions for working pensioners and nonpayment of pensions to working pensioners who are in certain positions in the civil service.

However, in 2016, the Constitutional Court recognized as unconstitutional the norms on the limitation of pensions for working pensioners. Therefore, the Draft Law brings the legislation into line with the Constitution.

The relevant changes are proposed to be made in the laws: “On pension provision”, “On compulsory state pension insurance”, “On status and social protection of citizens affected by consequences the Chernobyl disaster”, “On Pension Provision of Persons Discharged from Military Service and Several Other Persons”, “On Civil Service”, “On Judicial expertise”, “On the National Bank of Ukraine”, “On service in local self-government bodies”, “On Diplomatic Service”, “On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities” and the Regulation on the Assistant-consultant of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine.

Members of the committee noted that the adoption of the draft law will restore social justice for working pensioners and unanimously supported it.
