“The successes of decentralization” will be envisaged in the Constitution

Governmental decentralization reform is entering a new stage: its achievement and irreversibility must be consolidated in the Constitution, so that nobody can turn the system of local self-government backwards.

This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a speech at a meeting of the Regional Development Council in Kharkiv, who assesses the reform of decentralization as “one of the most successful reforms of the government”, reports Law and Business. The official is convinced that resources and mechanisms for their effective use and multiplication have been transferred to the field. And now, in his opinion, it is necessary “to defend the reform, to consolidate its goals in the Constitution”.
