Grigoriy Nemyrya , the Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, made such statement, according to the information on the Committee’s Facebook page.
“Unfortunately, I have to admit that at the moment Ukraine has no strategy or state policy aimed at protecting rights and freedoms of the internally displaced persons”, Nemyrya said.
According to him, in January 2016, the law on protection of rights and freedoms of the internally displaced persons entered into force. However, the Government still has not brought the regulatory acts in conformity with the new law. Moreover, the official representatives of the new Cabinet are currently making contradictory statements on protection of rights and freedoms of this particular category of citizens.
“I urge everyone involved to put an end to this and finally develop a state policy aimed at safeguarding the rights of the internally displaced persons” , Nemyrya underscored.
