Two points of free legal aid will appear on the demarcation line

Two points of free legal aid will be open on the line of demarcation in Donbass. One of them will be located in Novotroitskoe village, Donetsk region.

“We are opening 2 free legal aid points at the contact points of the demarcation line
so that people who come to our territory can immediately receive free legal advice,”
he said.

According to Sergey Petukhov, free legal aid points will function as ordinary legal aid offices.

“We give free legal advice to anyone who addresses. There are professional lawyers who can provide advice on a wide range of issues. There are categories of citizens entitled to receive free secondary legal aid. This is help in the preparation of procedural documents and the provision of lawyers. Internally displaced persons are the category of population that has the right to such secondary legal aid”, said the Deputy Minister of Justice.

As reported by Hromadske Radio, this summer, human rights activists have said that the Ministry of Justice puts pressure on the workers of the BBP regional centers. The staff of the BPP coordination point and regional centers linked this pressure to the situation around the election of the Director of the Coordination Center for Legal Aid. In their opinion, the competition was not transparent.

In the end, the Ministry of Justice and the Legal Aid Coordination Center agreed to hold an advisory transparent competition for the position of Director of the Coordination Center for Legal Aid.
