What will change in the state service at the outset of reform?

The Parliament has de facto begun reforming the state service by adopting the Act on State Service.{/bs_lead]

The Act comes into force on May 1, 2016.

The new Act on State Service shall provide a complete separation of political and administrative positions, an open contest for a state service position, reduction of a number of state officers. The number of the post categories will also be reduced from seven to three.

The term of office, which used to be indefinite, shall now constitute 5 years for high officials, and no more than two terms for others.
